GAUGE STRONGARM
Gauge started his tattoo journey in Seattle in the early 90’s at a very busy downtown street shop near Pioneer Square. During the subsequent 2 year apprenticeship they had to tattoo whatever walked in the door and was excited to do so! Due to this, they were exposed to a multitude of different styles and artists. After graduating, the primary objective was to work with each person to make sure their vision was fully brought to fruition.
Always striving to learn new techniques and being vigilant about honing the craft Gauge perpetually challenges himself to grow as an artist. Loving to collaborate with clients to create something they will be proud to wear physically and spiritually throughout life’s journey. It is vitally important to make every experience unforgettable, leaving everyone who gets tattooed with an extraordinary memory.
As a young queer getting their first tattoo at 14, it set Gauge on a life long path of spiritual, emotional and physical transition. Seeing tattooing as a framework for self expression and metamorphosis Gauge sees tattooing as more than just putting a pretty picture on your skin. With the right purpose tattooing itself can be deeply cathartic and transformative. For Gauge Tattooing has a parallel to their transitioning where you are intentionally fashioning your body to look more like you feel inside.
As an out proud Queer Tranny living in the Bay Area working primarily in San Francisco, it is exceptionally important for them to work in a safe environment that is open and welcoming to ALL people and for them ALL to feel seen and heard.
